The Rotary Action Group on Mental Health Initiatives (RAGMHI) promotes mental health and wellness. Its members are passionate about helping any community enhance prevention and access to treatment. We think of mental health as one’s ability to balance the weight of life’s worries with knowledge and coping skills such as self-awareness, problem solving and help-seeking.

Our resources are as simple as creative problem solving worksheets and as sophisticated as increasing the capacity for behavioral health care; we also help communities create Action Group chapters or grant projects. For example, our ‘Wellness in a Box’ toolkit is currently being implemented in Nagpur, India to provide students with depression awareness and earlier access to treatment and to develop teachers with the skills of a School Counselor. We encourage you to also access our speakers’ bureau, see district action group newsletters, and use the Don’t Bottle it Up toolkit or the Resilience toolkit.

For the first time this year our action group members can increase local prevention and treatment capacity by enabling your pediatricians with supports and training. Members of the global Action Group on Mental Health Initiatives made all this happen – we can do more if you join us. Introduce one of the resources into your community!
